A magnificent set of vibrantly colored Italian faience plates, hand painted with brilliant scenes of traditional everyday country life, one for each month of the year. Cutting firewood, pruning, planting, fishing, harvesting and such. Each with the foot of the plate drilled on the back side for display, if desired. All in good condition, with normal irregularities to the glazes, as made. Of recent make, marked on the backs, somewhat illegibly in black glaze with a cipher, various initials, 19, and Italy.
